Destination Experience kicks off
The list of speakers for this week’s Destination Experience continues to grow, with the announcement that overstock.com’s CEO and founder Dr Patrick M Byrne will be attending Jamaica’s Global Economic Renaissance Summit being held at Spanish Court Hotel – The Worthington in New Kingston.
The aim of Destination Experience is to help enlighten, empower and educate today’s entrepreneurs and business leaders on how to navigate an ever changing global marketplace.
Other speakers will include:
Wes Edens – founder and chairman, Fortress Investment Group and New Fortress Energy. Fortress Investment Group is a highly diversified investment manager with over US$70 billion under management.
Michael V Roberts — widely considered one of the most successful African American entrepreneurs in history. He has built a billion-dollar portfolio with more than 70 companies in a diverse range of industries including hotels, broadcasting and wireless communication.
Michael Lee-Chin — chairman of NCB and the Economic Growth Council.
Alex McKenzie — president and chief executive officer, IFS Securities. McKenzie acquired IFS Securities in 2002 and has built it into the largest minority-owned wealth management firm in the US.
Peter Blair Henry — dean of NYU’s Stern School of Business, board member Citigroup and General Electric and author of
TURNAROUND: Third World lessons for First World Growth.
Sherri Pittman — managing director, California Clean Energy Fund, a US$1.5 billion investment fund focused on the development and deployment of clean tech solutions.
Dr Kingsley Chin — managing partner, KIC Ventures. Chin is an ultra successful spinal surgeon turned entrepreneur and investor. Over the past decade KIC has invested more than US$200 million to create a health tech portfolio valued at over US$1 billion.
Jon Diamond — founder and chairman, Disruption Capital Former Chairman, Ford Models Inc.
Dr Sabrina Kay — founder, Fremont Investments who has built and sold seven companies.
Destination Experience started yesterday with a welcome reception at the Spanish Court Hotel – The Worthington. It continues today with the Visionaries’ Summit at the hotel from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and an Affinity Dinner to benefit the American Friends of Jamaica at a private residence later tonight.
Tomorrow there will be a Visionaries’ Summit brunch – 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The event will culminate with the Influencer’s Community Dinner at the Regency Room at the Terra Nova Hotel in New Kingston from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
