Cornwall Regional Hospital lab services put on hold
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica — The Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA) says that the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay has been forced since yesterday (Monday January 23) to curtail laboratory services as a result of the “air quality issues” being experienced.
In a release early Tuesday, WRHA said that the decision was made due to the identification of additional works required to complete a ventilation rectification exercise. “The lab is therefore temporarily closed to all out-patients previously scheduled for tests,” the release stated.
The blood donation unit continues to operate at the isolation building which is located in the car park near to the accident & emergency unit, the WRHA said.
In addition, physiotherapy services have been relocated to the West Jamaica Conference Centre – Port Cochere 3. Clients are asked to call 773-9196 for queries relating to their appointments.
Clients are also asked to call the hospital at 952-5100-9 for further updates prior to accessing the services of the lab.
