Boys’ Town students experience golf at SANTA 2016
Two students from Boys’ Town Infant and Primary School were introduced to golf at SANTA 2016 Charity Golf Tournament.
The weekend of golf at the Constant Spring Golf and Country Club, SANTA (Seeing A Need, Taking Action) 2016, hosted grade six student Shakayla Marks and grade four student Rickeldo Atland for tutoring in short- and long-range putting.
The students were tutored by Romaine Evans, the now 18-year-old national golf representative and the 2015 Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Champion.
Evans, who attends Tacky High School in Gayle, St Mary, delayed his practice session to show the children the rudiments of the game, before they enjoyed a barbecue and an after party at the pool.
CB Facey Foundation (CBFF) — the charitable arm of Pan-Jamaican Investments Limited — for the fourth year, is the major sponsor of the charity golf tournament. The Foundation also supports student and curriculum development and extra-curricular programmes and projects at the Boys’ Town Infant and Primary School.

We must see the value of public/private partnerships to support programmes at Boys’ Town, such as field trips; art programmes; and parent, student and teacher development classes. Events such as SANTA are at the core of achieving our country’s Vision 2030 goals,” said Brittany Singh Williams, executive director of the CBFF.
