CASCO Celebrates 40 Years

In 1976 the Central Agricultural Supplies Company Limited opened its doors for business at 4 Ward Avenue, Mandeville. The mission was clear; CASCO set out to provide quality feeds and fertilizers, agricultural chemicals and equipment to central and western Jamaica. CASCO began as a hardcore agricultural distributor, specializing in animal feeds and fertilizers however, expansion was on the horizon and change was destined to come.

1976 – Casco opens its doors for business at 4 Ward Ave as a retail outlet for animal feeds and distributors for Pillsbury Brand.

1978 – Following the discontinuation of operations for the Pillsbury Brand Feed in Jamaica, in 1978, CASCO was appointed distributors for Mastermix Feeds now known as Hi-Pro for Western Jamaica.

The year 1979 marked the year CASCO acquired distributorship of Gardner equipment, another top brand worldwide. Match that with other brands like Polar Industrial Equipment only proves that CASCO was only interested in stocking the best for their customers.

1980 – Casco acquires 6 Ward Ave as Head Office and diversifies its offerings to include fertilizers, chemicals and animal health products.

1982 – Casco opens a branch in Savlamar, Westmoreland dubbed “Casco Sav”.

1983 – Casco opens a branch in Black River, St. Elizabeth dubbed “Casco Black River”.

1992 – Casco acquires 100 acres of farm land and initiated Lakesville Farms, producing orchard crops, eggs, cattle, pigs, goats etc., with their own fresh produce and meat shop located at 6 Ward Ave.

1998 – Casco acquires property in Santa Cruz to open its 3rd branch.

In 2001 CASCO decided to sell their hardcore agricultural business to Agro-Grace and lease them the premises at Ward Avenue. It was during that same time CASCO moved their equipment supplies to James Plaza, Mandeville, specializing in small engine, agricultural equipment and parts.

In 2001 CASCO became dealers for the ECHO outdoor power equipment, and this set a gold standard in what was to be expected. Recognizing that ECHO is a worldwide brand and international standard for professional grade, hand held equipment CASCO went on to pen a deal that would make them the exclusive distributors of ECHO in Jamaica as of 2010. This was a big deal as the quality of your product speaks volumes to your business and if you believe this to be so then CASCO has long set themselves apart from any competition as the best in service and equipment, island wide.

2003 – Casco acquires land at Caledonia Road Mandeville and erects a small warehouse to start a new project dubbed “Casco Parts & Equipment Department”, concentrating on small engine agricultural equipment and parts.

2004 – Casco has attained “Dealership Status” for Small equipment Brands such as:- POULAN, BRIGGS & STRATTON, GENERAC PORTABLE, OREGON, HOMELITE, RYOBI, RIGID, RED HAWK mowers and many more.

2010 – Casco secures “Distributor Status” for ECHO-SHINDAIWA Brand Equipment along with other major brands such as :- MATABI, SWISSMEX RAPID, PACER PUMPS and many more.

2011 – Casco initiated its “Dealer Network” which allows customers to have access to all equipment and parts available through Dealers Island wide.

Homecoming

In 2015 CASCO has a wealth of experience under their belt, serving generations of Jamaican farmers and maintaining the highest standards for equipment sales and service. With the company growing, space becomes an issue and management decides to move back home at 6 Ward Ave, Mandeville. The building was renovated and fitted with modern displays and reinvented to accommodate the vast multitude of parts and equipment. Now it was time to return home to Ward Avenue, the right fit and their current head office.

Celebrating their 40th Anniversary in 2016 CASCO continues to make strides in ensuring their customers have access and support for all their brands island wide, securing distributorship for top brands, most recently AR PUMPS and RAISMAN Spare Parts.

The main thing that drives CASCO throughout their 40 years is their customer service, not only with their long-time customers, walk in customers but also for those who purchase genuine equipment from their dealers and to top it off their after sale service is highly commendable. “When CASCO appoints a dealer, whatever that dealer sells CASCO is able to service and repair. There are even people and companies that have been able to start business using equipment bought from us or retailing our products in various regions.”
