Five cops promoted to rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Police High Command is confirming the appointment of five Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
They are:
1. Richard Stewart, the staff officer for the Jamaica Constabulary Force;
2. Millicent Sproul-Thomas, head of the St Andrew Central Division;
3. Ronald Anderson from the Protective Services Division;
4. Clifford Chambers from the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch; and
5. Fitz Bailey, head of the Clarendon Division.
A news release from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit said Sproul-Thomas is the fourth woman in the history of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to have attained the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Novelette Grant, retired DCP Jevene Bent, and retired DCP Winnifred Hall Wary are the other three women to have attained that rank.
