ISSA to rule on Spot Valley’s controversial D’Cup games today
Spot Valley High’s position in Zone C of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Flow daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition could be affected after today’s meeting of the management committee of the competition in Kingston.
Spot Valley leads Zone C with seven points from three games — on goal difference over Cedric Titus High who have played four games — but depending on the result of the meeting, the St James team could increase their lead by three points or drop to the bottom of the table.
The ISSA Management Committee will look into incidents that have affected two games involving Spot Valley High.
On September 13, Spot Valley High’s game at Holland High was called off after the management of the Spot Valley High team allegedly expressed discomfort at the absence of uniformed security personnel at the venue.
Two days later, Spot Valley High beat Cedric Titus High 2-0, but had used a player, Courtney Chisholm, who was shown a red card in their 3-3 draw against Herbert Morrison on September 10.
Chisholm would have been suspended from the game against Holland High, but under FIFA rules, that game was ‘not official’ and the player would have to instead miss the game against Cedric Titus.
