STETHS hunt more glory
Defending daCosta Cup and Ben Francis Cup KO champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) will be seeking to add to their impressive trophy collection when the Flow-sponsored 2016 schoolboy football season opens this Saturday (September 10) in Montego Bay. STETHS have won the all-rural daCosta five times (1974, 1989, 2009, 2013, 2015) and the all-rural Ben Francis, the last six seasons in a row. Located in Santa Cruz, STETHS have had less success against urban opposition, winning the all-island Olivier Shield only once, in 1999. The new schoolboy football season will open with a triple-header at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay. Manning Cup champions Jamaica College will first meet St Andrew Technical High School at 2:45 pm, then STETHS will face Black River High at 5:05 pm. St James teams Anchovy High and Cornwall College will meet at 7:00 pm.
