Good turnout for Montpelier business, health fair
SCORES of residents turned out at the Montpelier Agricultural Showground on August 4 for the staging of a business, health and opportunities fair.
Held under the theme ‘Local Economic Development: Building Communities… Improving Lives and Livelihood’, the event saw more than 18 public and private sector entities displaying their products and services.
It was organised by the Social Development Commission in collaboration with Sandals Resorts.
Patrons received free health checks at the Sandals-sponsored health clinic, including blood sugar and blood pressure tests.
Stakeholders that participated in the fair included Jamaica Business Development Corporation, Jamaica Promotions, Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Bureau of Standards, St James Parish Council, Hi-Pro, National People’s Co-operative Bank, Jamaica Public Service, Jamaica National Small Business Association, United States Agency for International Development, and Guardian Life Insurance.
