Windies fold for 196 as Ashwin takes five
KINGSTON, Jamaica — West Indies were a short while ago dismissed for a first innings total of 196 in the second of their four-match Test series against India here at Sabina Park.
A 81-run fourth wicket stand between home boys Marlon Samuels and an aggressive Jermaine Blackwood had earlier made slight headway for the West Indies, after India’s fast bowlers created plenty of chances against a tentative top order in the first session.
Blackwood, who has been struggling over the last few series contributed 62 off 62 balls, while Samuels made 37.
Shannon Gabriel (15) and Miguel Cummins (24) both played brief cameos in adding 38 for the final wicket.
In form spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with five for 52, with semaers Ishant Sharma (2-14) and Mohommed Shami (2-23) offering support.
