Windies 84/4 at lunch vs India
KINGSTON, Jamaica — West Indies gradually recovered from a torrid start to progress to 88 for four at lunch in the second of their four-match Test series against India here at Sabina Park on Saturday.
India’s fast bowlers created plenty of chances against a tentative West Indian top order in the first session in Kingston.
After slipping to 7-3, the West Indies courtesy of a 81-run fourth wicket stand between home boys Marlon Samuels and an aggressive Jermaine Blackwood made slight headway.
Blackwood, who has been struggling over the last few series, signalled a return to form smashing 62 off 62 balls, inclusive of seven boundaries and four sixes. His half century which came up off 47 balls was the second fastest against India in a Test behind Sir Viv Richards.
Samuels not out on 14 and Roston Chase are the batsmen set to resume. Ishant Sharma with 2-14, so far, has the best bowling figures.
