Traffic changes for ‘Jamaica Pray’ tomorrow
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have issued a traffic advisory for changes to be made due to ‘Jamaica Pray’ scheduled for Half Way Tree Square tomorrow from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
The following roads will be closed at 6:00am:
Constant Spring Road in the vicinity of South Odeon Avenue
There will be no access beyond the Constant Spring Road/South Avenue/Suthermere Road intersection.
The following roads will be closed at 1:00pm
Constant Spring Road and Courtney Walsh Drive
South Odeon Avenue and Eastwood Park Road
Suthermere Road and Hope Road
Spencer James and Hope Road
North Odeon and Eastwood Park Road
As a result of the road closures traffic flow will be diverted as follows:
Traffic flowing easterly along Constant Spring Road will be diverted to South Avenue on to Waterloo Road then on to Hope Road.
Traffic wishing to access Hope Road via South Odeon Avenue and Suthermere Road will utilize Eastwood Park Road, Constant Spring Road, South Avenue, Waterloo Road and Hope Road.
JUTC buses will be able to access the upper floor of the transport centre until 1:00pm. It is to be noted though that they will only be allowed access to Suthermere Road upon exiting the centre. After 1:00pm only the lower floor will be accessible from Eastwood Park Road.
JUTC buses wishing to access the transport centre from Constant Spring Road will be diverted to Harrison Place, Burlington Avenue, Upper Sandringham Avenue, on to Molynes Road, Eastwood Park Road and into the Centre.
Parking for people attending the event will be provided at UDC car park, South Odeon Avenue and at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (Holy Childhood High School).
Road closures will remain in effect during the event, the police say adding that plans are in place to return to normality as quickly as possible.
