St Andrew South selection: ‘Good against evil’, Comrades say
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Comrades in St Andrew South are describing the selection exercise to replace Dr Omar Davies as constituency chair as “good against evil”.
“The results will determine the direction of the PNP (People’s National Party),” one Comrade who gave her name as Dawn told OBSERVER ONLINE.
She insisted that a victory for Mark Golding, one of two candidates vying for the position, is a victory for the PNP and Jamaica.
“Is good over evil,” she said to loud cheers from fellow Comrades.
Another Comrade, who declined to give his name, insisted that Colin Campbell, the other candidate, would not receive “more than 20 votes”.
“A funeral fi Colin today,” he said.
At the same time, supporters of Campbell argued that he will surprise naysayers.
“A Colin and Portia we say,” they chanted.
“Colin we see down here; we don’t know the other man and we don’t want him,” they said.
Seventy-nine delegates are now casting their votes.
