Jamaican business cable channel, Business Access Television (BATV), has signed a deal with National Baking Company to promote the company’s Bold Ones of Manufacturing initiative.
According to Garth Walker managing director BATV, the whole idea is to convert the ‘Bold Ones 2016’ from a print concept to a televised series that will be produced by BATV.
“Reading something in the newspaper or in a magazine is totally different from seeing it so we believe that the visual will give this campaign a lot more impact,” Walker explained in a recent news release.
The ‘Bold Ones’ campaign is a project of National’s Chairman Butch Hendrickson and was first implemented in 2010. The campaign seeks to continue to find individuals who are ‘Bold’ enough to enter the manufacturing industry in an effort to revitalise the sector. The last instalment of the campaign saw eight companies emerging from the programme equipped with knowledge in brand awareness, local and international contracts and an increase in market penetration.
Hendrickson said, “thus far the partnership with Business Access is fantastic. This new format that we’ve doctored to televise the campaign for this year will definitely be a keeper and I can’t see any reason why this wouldn’t be a game changer for the programme. It’s not for us, the bakery, but for the ‘Bold Ones’ — whoever may be selected and will certainly benefit from this partnership.”
