Carpool Karaoke to become Apple Music series
Hit television segment Carpool Karaoke is coming to Apple Music. Carpool Karaoke is a skit featured on British comedian James Corden’s The Late Late Show, wherein different celebs ride round town with him, talk about themselves and do a bit of karaoke.
One Direction, Justin Bieber, Adele and Selena Gomez have all gotten in James’ ride to hang out for a bit and jam out to whichever of their hit songs just ‘happens to be on the radio at that moment’ and the following and views have been massive. Just recently The First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama’s Carpool Karaoke episode aired wherein James drove around the White House with Michelle riding shotgun.
She talked about how she’s rarely afforded the pleasure of just going for a drive, having input in what’s played on the radio and hasn’t ridden up front in a car in a long time. But it wasn’t all insight into life as FLOTUS, she jammed out to some Stevie Wonder and Missy Elliott turned out for a group turn up and sing along to
Get Ur Freak On and
This Is For My Girls.
Now CBS has granted Apple Music permission to run a 16 episode mini series of Carpool Karaoke featuring a different host. Don’t worry though, James Corden’s bit will still be part of his show on CBS.
“The joy of ‘Carpool’ is both the intimacy it creates, while seeing the love our passengers have for music,” Ben Winston, executive producer of The Late Late Show with James Corden, said in a statement.
So now there’s just more carpooling and more karaoke – everybody wins!
