Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum named Rum Brand Champion 2016
Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum has been named the Rum Brand Champion for 2016 by the respected global spirits publication, The Spirits Business.
The Spirits Business’ Brand Champions report is released annually and showcases a brand from each category that outshines their competitors, not only in terms of volume growth, but also for consumer engagement tactics, new product development and all-round industry excellence.
“We are thrilled that our premium rum brand, Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum, was named The Spirits Business 2016 Rum Brand Champion,” said KK Hall, Global Strategic Marketing Director for Rums for Gruppo Campari, according to a news release.
“In 2015 we introduced a new naming classification and packaging design for our core range to further clarify the hierarchy of our rum expressions, to better represent our premium positioning, and to share key elements of our unique story. We have received an excellent response to these changes which has translated into growth for the brand,” she said.
“With Appleton Estate, we have a fantastic story to tell about our brand’s 265-year history, our home of Jamaica and our ‘cane to cocktail’ production process. This unique process showcases our ownership and control over each step of our rum production, as well as the art and science of blending under the stewardship of Master Blender Joy Spence.” she further noted.
The 2016 Brand Champion list is selected by The Spirits Business‘ team of award-winning spirits journalists.
