Manor Park Optimist Club health fair draws hundreds from inner city
Hundreds of inner-city residents turned out for the recent health fair spearheaded by the Optimist Club of Manor Park, St Andrew, at the North Street Primary School in downtown Kingston.
The health fair, which was first staged in the summer of 2010, specifically targets students who are entering high school in September, but also treats residents of surrounding communities, including Denham Town, Hannah Town, Fletcher’s Land, Tivoli Gardens, and the like.
This year the fair served as part of the club’s “Sweet 18 Anniversary” and was staged with the support of the National Health Fund, the Diabetes Association of Jamaica, and volunteer health providers. Here are some scenes from the health fair:
