Mobile app used to deliver health care services
Trinity Mall Medical Centre, Jamaica and United States-based HopSync Technologies signed a deal recently to allow the use of ‘Xpress Health Mobile App’ in Jamaica, for the purposes of improving access, delivery and coordination of health care services to patients.
A news release from Down 2 Earth Productions said the deal represents the first time that a mobile app was used to provide health services in Jamaica.
This reportedly places Trinity Mall Medical Centre in a position to provide services to their patients, and allow for Jamaican physicians to be approved for similar improvements in their health care delivery.
“The Xpress Health Mobile App is a pioneering move for the Jamaican health care system, as this will enhance the doctor-patient communication, facilitate greater convenience for patients, reduce costs, and improve health care outcomes. Teaming up with HopSync Technologies to provide Xpress Health is an exciting development for Trinity Mall Medical Centre and Jamaica.
“Using the Xpress Health Mobile App will provide patients with real-time messaging with their doctors, e-prescriptions, medication reminders, and doctor’s appointments. HopSync Technologies believes that these solutions will allow the Jamaican health care system to benefit from increased productivity, reduced operating costs, increased patient/customer satisfaction, improved disease outcomes, improved population health, and decreased systemic costs,” said CEO of Trinity Mall Medical Centre Dr Shaun Jones.
The release said Trinity Mall Medical Centre will collaborate with agencies such as the Medical Council of Jamaica and the Medical Association of Jamaica, to ensure that only qualified doctors are allowed to interact with patients on Xpress Health.
The Xpress Health App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and is available for free, the release continued.
Dr Aisha Liferidge, chief medical officer of HopSync Technologies, stated that: “Trinity Mall Medical Centre is a great partner, and this agreement exemplifies their dedication to the leading-edge patient care and reflects our desire to collaborate with the companies that share our vision of health care anytime, health care anywhere.”
Trinity Mall Medical Centre, established in 2001, is one of Montego Bay’s medical centres which has served clients in the western region of Jamaica and has partnered with several doctors in Montego Bay.
Committed to innovative health care delivery, such as telehealth consultations, 24-hour urgent care, evening
ultrasounds, on-site corporate clinics, and the use of robust electronic health recording systems, the company again collaborated with HopSync Technologies recently to deliver two new apps targeting diabetes.
