Good Vibes at the top
Good Vibes, the sixth solo album by American singer Josh Heinrichs, debuts at number one on the Billboard Reggae Album chart.
The 10-track set was released March 11 on GanJah Records. It includes High Grade with deejay Skillinjah, which is driven by theMurderer ‘riddim’, made popular in the 1980s by Barrington Levy and producer Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes.
The 34-year-old Heinrichs is from Missouri. He is the former lead singer of reggae band Jah Roots.
He launched his solo career in 2008 shortly after leaving the band. His first EP, Things Change, came out in 2009.
A year later, his Live In Hawaii album was released.
Famed bass player Aston ‘Familyman’ Barrett and American singer Cas Haley contributed to his 2010 album Josh Heinrichs and Friends, which debuted at number four on the USA iTunes.
Heinrichs has also recorded collaborative albums with Skillinjah and Trinidadian reggae artiste Marlon Asher.
