St Ann Kite Festival promises family fun on Monday
ST ANN, Jamaica — The organisers of the annual St Ann Kite Festival and Family Fun Day, in St Ann are promising to deliver an exciting event for the entire family on Monday.
This year’s festival, which is the 13th staging, promises something for everyone, with a line-up of big name artistes, prize competitions and attractions for the kids.
“It’s going to be exciting. It’s our 13th year now so we have reached perfection,” said Oniel ‘Baasco’ Lennon, a member of the organising committee.
“Come out with the family and enjoy a fun-filled day. It’s a family show so come and create new memories with the entire family,” Lennon added.
Among those slated to perform is Anthony B, who hasn’t graced a stage in the island in some years. His pending performance is said to be eagerly anticipated.
Other big name acts include, Beenie Man, I-Octane, Freddy McGregor, Romaine Virgo, Coco Tea and Richie Spice. QQ, Devin Di Dakta, Loyal Flames, Vershon, Bobby Tenna, Pressure and Jahmel are also slated to perform.
There will be a ‘kiddies’ village’ with ferris wheel, train ride, horseback riding and other attractions.
There will also be bun-eating competing, dancing competition, prizes for the best kite and many “prizes and surprises”.
The show will be held at the Shazz Entertainment Ground in Priory, St Ann, starting at 10:00 am.
