PM Holness hailed as ‘fast decision maker’
VICE-PRESIDENT of the China Communication Construction Company Ltd (CCCC), Ziyu Sun has hailed Prime Minister Andrew Holness as an energetic leader and “fast decision maker”.
Speaking to journalists during an interview at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Wednesday, Sun said, based on his interactions with the new prime minister, he has developed a “very deep impression” of him.
He said that the prime minister displays a strong commitment to growing Jamaica’s economy.
He said, too, that Holness has a global vision and is willing to give his best for economic growth and job creation.
“I do believe in the leadership of the new Government and I hope for economic development, social development, and also improvement in living standards of Jamaicans,” he said.
Sun said the CCCC, through its subsidiary company, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC), is ready to invest more to support the Government and people of Jamaica.
The CCCC vice-president was speaking hours after the official opening of the North-South leg of Highway 2000 by the prime minister at the Caymanas Toll Booth in St Catherine. The highway was constructed by CHEC through investment of some US$600 million.
CHEC Chairman Lin Yichong, also expressed confidence in the Jamaican Government and hailed the efficiency of the business environment.
He signalled the company’s interest in expanding its business in Jamaica.
Noting the high quality of the Jamaican engineers and workers, as well as the hospitality of the Jamaican people, Yichong said he and his counterparts feel at home in the country.
