Rotary Club of Kingston’s Annual Charity Golf Tourney a success
The Rotary Club of Kingston hosted its 22nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the picturesque Constant Spring Golf & Country Club recently.
The tournament was a tremendous success, hosting 96 golfers who participated in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie, on a day with good weather.
The tournament was held in support of the Club’s 2015/16 major project ‘Sean’s Gift’ under the theme: Child Health and Disease Prevention. Club President Robert Kinlocke noted that the objective of the project was to construct a state-of-the-art isolation room at the Paediatric Oncology Department at UWI hospital. This is a critical component of cancer care allowing for safer chemotherapy induction for children with cancer.
Vice-President and Chairman of the tournament, Michael Buckle, noted that the main feature of this year’s tournament was the chance to win a brand new 2016 Hyundai Tucson for a hole-in-one on hole #18. This hole was recently reconfigured to a par 3 and the car was offered by the title sponsor Magna Motors, local dealers for Hyundai “New Thinking. New Possibilities.”
