#DecisionJa2016: Senior citizen encourages young people to go out and vote
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — While a number of people, particularly younger members of the electorate, are sceptical about the voting process, one senior citizen has endorsed the need for people to exercise their democratic right.
“You have to vote to put the right person in,” Alvin Barnes told Observer ONLINE as he waited to vote at deCarteret College, just outside the town of Mandeville.
The 88-year-old who was seated in a wheelchair said that he listens to the messages of the two political parties and vote as he sees fit.
Barnes said that he does not observe any difference with general elections in the past and now.
