#DecisionJa2016: JLP’s Heroy Clarke wins St James Central
ST JAMES, Jamaica – The Jamaica Labour Party’s Heroy Clarke was a short while ago declared the winner of the St James Central constituency seat, beating his opponent the People’s National Party’s Ashley-Ann Foster by more than 2,000 votes.
Based on the preliminary results, Clarke amassed 6,932 votes to Foster’s 4,851, after all 97 boxes were counted Thursday.
Foster, a 26-year-old attorney-at-law, worked assiduously to hold on to the seat, which was first won by publisher Lloyd B Smith by a slim margin of 98 votes when he beat Clarke in the 2011 general election. However, her efforts proved futile
