#DecisionJa2016: Dr Horace Chang happy with turnout in St James North West
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Incumbent Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for St James North West Dr Horace Chang says he is pleased with the voter turnout in the constituency so far, and has expressed confidence that he will retain the seat for his party by more than 1,500 votes.
According to Dr Chang, at about 1:00 pm the polling station at the St Agustine’s Anglican in Coral Gardens, for example, was showing a roughly 45 per cent voter turnout.
“So things are going smoothly and I have realised that a lot of our voters have come out,” Dr Chang told the Observer Online shortly after casting his ballot at the St Augustine’s Church.
Dr Chang is being challenged for the right to represent the constituency by the People’s National Party’s Anthony Henry.
Dr Chang has been member of parliament for the North West St James since 2002.
In the 2011 general election he defeated the PNP’s Henry MC Curdy by more than 1,000 votes.
