#DecisionJa2016: Complaints of slow voting in St Andrew Eastern
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — There have been complaints from voters since the polls opened this morning about the slow pace of the voting process.
Some voters waiting their turn outside polling stations in sections of St Andrew Eastern have even insinuated that there is a plot to frustrate them with long lines.
When the Jamaica Observer Online caught up with Julian Robinson, the incumbent for St Andrew South Eastern shortly after he voted in his constituency, he, too, voiced some concerns about the slow pace.
Robinson attributed the delay to the electronic voter identification system which, he said, is being used in all divisions in the constituency. He stressed that there is no issue with the IDs themselves but that some presiding officers may not be fully au fait with the system.
