Donaldson confident he’ll win St James East Central
MONTEGO BAY, St James – People’s National Party (PNP) candidate for St James East Central Noel Donaldson has expressed confidence in wresting the seat from incumbent Edmund Bartlett when Jamaicans vote in the general election this Thursday.
Speaking at a mass PNP rally at Catherine Hall Sports Complex, Donaldson said he was shocked by what he claimed was a lack of piped water in 80 per cent of the constituency.
He noted that his absence at a major party rally held in Half-Way-Tree recently sent the wrong signal to his rivals, who, he said, began to gloat that he left party.
“Hear di man dem say Donaldson gone. Well, Donaldson nah go no weh,” he said.
“Come Friday morning, 26th of February, East Central St James is going to have a new MP from the People’s National Party,” he added.
The seat, which has been represented by Bartlett since 2007, is now said to be a marginal one by political pundits.
