#DecisionJa2016: Seaga receives warm ‘Labourite’ welcome
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Former Prime Minister and former leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Edward Seaga sent Labourites gathered in Half-Way-Tree square, St Andrew, into a frenzy when he arrived a short while ago.
“Eddie, Eddie, Eddie,” the massive crowd shouted as Desmond Mckenzie, candidate for Kingston Western and master of ceremony for the night, introduced him.
Seaga was greeted with thunderous applause as soon as he was visible to the throng of supporters.
As Seaga greeted the crowd with hands raised, McKenzie described his presence at the mass rally as “momentous”.
“Let us say my eyes have seen the glory…he is a friend, a father, a brother… Edward Phillip George Seaga,” McKenzie said before asking for a moment of silence to recognise the veteran politician.
