#DecisionJa2016: PNP stepping on the progress, says Terrelonge
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for St Catherine East Central Alando Terrelonge says Jamaica has become a broken country under the ruling People’s National Party (PNP).
He said: “Jamaica has become broken at the hands of the PNP… but you have a potter in the Jamaica Labour Party.”
“PNP love to talk about four missing years, but what about the 24 missing years?” he questioned.
Terrelonge insisted that the PNP, whose campaign slogan is ‘Step up the Progress’, is “stepping on the progress”.
He said unemployment has been at its highest in the last 15 years, arguing that under the PNP the dollar has been ailing and continues to slide.
He told Labourites gathered in Half-Way-Tree square that the party he is representing believes in accountability and questioned the PNP’s accountability for the Riverton fire, and the use of the National Housing Trust’s funds to rescue the cash-strapped Outameni.
“Scandal after scandal has plagued you, the people, for far too long,” the attorney-at-law said.
“We have a golden opportunity to be on the right side of history… JLP has presented a work map, a partnership with you the people,” he said, adding “log on to prosperity”.
