#DecisionJa2016: JLP rally will be bigger than PNP’s, says Grange
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party candidate for St Catherine Central Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange says she is anticipating a massive crowd tonight for the party’s mass rally now under way in Half-Way-Tree square in St Andrew.
“I know for certain it will be bigger than the PNP’s (People’s National Party) crowd. I am certain,” Grange told OBSERVER ONLINE on Sunday.
The PNP three weeks ago staged a massive rally here, where Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller announced the date for the general election which is slated for Thursday.
Already, the St Andrew capital is mirroring the country’s annual carnival as bell-ringing Labourites dance to music blaring from speaker boxes.
Earlier, dozens arrived in overburdened vehicles, some protruding from windows, waving the Jamaican flag.
Party Leader Andrew Holness is expected to explain the much touted 10-point plan in a final bid to win over undecided members of the electorate.
The meeting will be televised.
