#DecisionJa2016: Anybody needs an apology it’s me, says Mike Henry
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — Campaign director and incumbent for Central Clarendon Mike Henry said if anybody needs an apology, it is him, as the People’s National Party is taking credit for some of the infrastructure which was negotiated by him.
This as he pointed to infrastructure like the Falmouth Pier, North-South Highway and the Waterloo bridge in St Andrew. He noted that the JLP’s manifesto speaks to some of the plans that he intends to continue, such as the reintroduction of the train service and the public bus system in Montego Bay.
Meanwhile, Henry said he heard the PNP officials were embroiled in an argument because their general secretary told them he, Henry, was right in his predictions that the JLP will win 35 seats.
Henry said he does not know how to lose and had he brought all of his supporters to Half-Way-Tree the crowd would have extended to Liguanea.
Meanwhile, Henry urged Labourites to look out for vote buying in the constituency. According to Henry, in the last general election he saw a bottle of ink which was used to ensure that persons In south east and south west Clarendon who sold their votes could not vote on the day of the election.
“Two nights before the election, they looked at the PDs (polling divisions) and decide they want to buy 10 persons in 50 PDs but say you must dip your finger in ink. I saw a bottle of that ink after the election,” he said. Henry also said one of the greatest shame on Jamaica was that the prime minister brought a former slave owner to Jamaica to address parliament who said he would not apologise to the black people. “I say shame on you Portia,” he said.
