Vaz warns Labourites of PNP ‘desperation and distractions’
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) campaign spokesman, Daryl Vaz, Sunday night warned Labourites in St Catherine against “desperation and distractions” promoted by the People’s National Party (PNP) leading up to the general election.
“In the next 11 days you are going to see more and desperation and distractions from the People’s National Party,” he told supporters attending a rally in Gregory Park, St Catherine.
He said that he had been informed that in his West Portland constituency there was a plan to bribe his indoor agents, as well as his supporters who agree to dip their finger in voting ink the night before the election, preventing them from voting.
“I am warning each and every one of you to look out for the ginnalship. Look out for political tricks. I know it can’t work in West Portland,” Vaz warned.
He said that he expects the trick to be tried in other constituencies, as well. However, Vaz said that he was confident it is not going to work in any other seat either, because the people were ” tired of the PNP government”.
Vaz said that the PNP is doing everything to distract the country and the people, instead of debating the issues.
He also suggested that the reason why the PNP was running from a debate was because “they promised you so many things in 2011, they know they can’t come back to you, so they prefer to hide”.
