#DecisionJa2016: PNP pressures Holness to answer questions about property purchase
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Pressure continues to mount on leader of the Opposition Andrew Holness for him to provide answers about his recent property purchase.
Officials of the People’s National Party (PNP) this morning said Holness’ failure to answer questions regarding his property purchase shows that he is not aware of the seriousness of the matter.
“I don’t think the leader of the Opposition and leader of the JLP (Jamaica Labour Party) really understands the gravamen of the questions that are being asked,” said spokesperson for the PNP Delano Franklyn.
“He (Holness) is not obligated to any one person to respond to these questions, he is obligated to the people of Jamaica,” Franklyn continued. “He is obligated to voters of Jamaica to respond to these matters, which deal with pertinent issues as it relates to how he has conducted himself over a period of time.”
He was speaking during a press conference at the PNP’s headquarters on Old Hope Road in Kingston.
Officials from the governing PNP say they have been calling on Holness to make full disclosure regarding the building of his mansion in Beverly Hills, St Andrew, but the JLP leader is yet to budge despite numerous questions pertaining to an application for a registered title from the Office of Titles in July 2011.
