#DecisionJa2016: 3 candidates nominated in Hanover Western
HANOVER, Jamaica – The Jamaica Labour Party candidate for Hanover Western, Brian Wallace, is officially the party’s standard-bearer for the constituency.
Wallace, a lawyer by profession, was nominated at 10:55 am, after arriving with a number of jubilant party supporters at the Hanover Parish Council municipal building in Lucea, which is the nomination centre.
Wallace will be running against the incumbent candidate for the People’s National Party, Ian Hayles, who was nominated at after 1:00 pm.
Hayles is running for a third term.
National Democratic Movement candidate, Lenard Sharpe, who arrived shortly after 11:00 am had some difficulties being nominated, but he later returned to the nomination centre and was duly nominated.
Meanwhile, in Hanover Eastern, JLP candidate Dave Brown was nominated at 11:00 am. He was accompanied by a large number of supporters.
And the PNP’s candidate for the constituency, Wynter McIntosh, who is also the mayor of Lucea and a teacher, was nominated at 12:25 pm.
