#DecisionJa2016: Teacher tipped as new JLP candidate for North Central St Catherine
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Kerensia Morrison, a teacher and the assistant general secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party(JLP) Area Council 2, is tipped to become the party’s new candidate in the North Central St Catherine constituency.
The 30-odd-yearold high school teacher joined the JLP’s young professionals affiliate, Generation 2000, while at Mico College. She is also the party’s candidate/caretaker in the Crescent Division of North Central Clarendon, which includes her hometown of Angels.
Her selection follows the decision late last week by the original candidate for North Central St Catherine, Peter Abrahams, to withdraw for personal reasons.
