#DecisionJa2016: PNP’s St Thomas rally delayed
ST THOMAS, Jamaica – Hundreds of People’s National Party (PNP) supporters now gathered in Yallahs, St Thomas for a mass rally, are being feted with old reggae hits as attempts are still being made to get the stage ready.
The rally was slated to start at 6:00 pm.
It is not immediately clear as to why the proceedings have been delayed, as the crowd is yet to be addressed.
The meeting, although still early, is in stark contrast to last week’s rally in Half-Way-Tree square, St Andrew, where thousands gathered to hear the date for the general election.
Marsha Francis is seeking to wrestle the St Thomas Western seat from the Jamaica Labour Party’s James Robertson when Jamaicans go to the polls on February 25.
