Here’s what we want to hear
A handful of Jamaicans have shared what they want to hear articulated on the campaign trail. Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller on Sunday night announced that Jamaicans will go to the polls to select a new Government on February 25 — almost one year before the general election is constitutionally due. Both Simpson Miller’s ruling People’s National Party and the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party are expected to field full slates of candidates for the 63 constituencies. A handful of independent candidates are also expected to offer themselves for service. Here’s what Jamaica Observer staff reporter Racquel Porter solicited from the streets yesterday.
