Tivoli Gardens look to continue RSPL resurgence against Harbour View
Tivoli Gardens FC and Harbour View FC, both desperate for points, are set to light up the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) in today’s contest at Edward Seaga Sports Complex.
All games today are set to begin at 3:00 pm.
Tivoli Gardens, struggling throughout the first half of the season, are flirting with relegation danger in 10th place on 23 points.
The West Kingston-based team recently parted ways with Head Coach Christopher Bender, and in came Technical Director Glendon ‘Admiral’ Bailey, a man revered in those parts for his previous achievements at the club as coach.
Tivoli got their first win in many moons when they clipped Rivoli United 2-1 in his first game in charge days ago. They will be anxious to get three more points against rivals Harbour View as they desperately try to escape the threat of demotion.
Fifth-placed Harbour View FC, who are on 33 points, have concerns of their own. They are two points behind Humble Lion FC, who presently occupy the fourth and last semi-final place.
Harbour View have looked in good form while winning their last two outings.
The clash between third-placed Montego Bay United and fourth-placed Humble Lion FC at WesPow Park in St James is another of the headliners.
Former champions Montego Bay, on 42 points from 23 games, are just a point behind leaders Arnett Gardens FC.
The visitors Humble Lion, holding onto that last-four spot despite losing two of their last five games, have 35 points.
At Frome Sports Complex, ninth-placed FC Reno (27 points) entertain 11th-placed Rivoli United (22 points).
In another game, second-placed Portmore United (43 points), who only trail Arnett Gardens due to an inferior goal-difference, welcome eighth-placed Boys’ Town FC (27 points) to Juici Park in Clarendon.
At Mona Bowl in St Andrew, sixth-placed University of the West Indies FC (30 points) tackle last-placed Waterhouse FC (21 points).
In the live televised RSPL Monday Night game to begin 8:40, seventh-placed Cavalier SC (27 points) welcome title-holders Arnett Gardens (43 points) to Stadium East.
