Frater’s goal-scoring exploits propel him into the US
Rising from his early days at the Harbour View FC Academy development system and Jamaica College, Kevaughn Frater is turning heads as a prolific goal-scorer these days.
In his second Premier League season at Harbour View, the 21-year-old has propelled himself to be the leading goalscorer for the East Kingston club with seven goals, including a sublime hat-trick against Portmore United.
Frater’s exploits have caught the eyes of Reggae Boyz Head Coach, Winfred Schaefer, and the player selected for both the Under-23 and and the senior Reggae Boyz squad for the two most recent games in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Panama and Haiti.
That was followed by a direct invitation to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Combine in Florida from January 9-13.
Frater did well alongside his Harbour View teammate Jorginho James, and that was followed by the MLS Franchise Real Salt Lake offering a one-year loan contract with their second-tier outfit, the USL’s Real Monarchs.
