Keammar ‘Dada’ Daley leaves H’View for UWI
Former National midfielder Keammar Daley has been transferred from Harbour View to the promoted University of the West Indies (UWI) just hours after playing against them.
Harbour View’s general manager, Clyde Jureidini, told the Jamaica Observer that Daley made the transfer request after their 2-2 draw with UWI on Thursday and he promptly obliged.
Daley, 27, who made his Reggae Boyz debut in 2008 against El Salvador, has been out of the Jamaican set-up for a while and his move might come as a surprise to many.
But UWI have proved that they can be a force to be reckoned with in their first season in the top flight and are currently seventh on 27 points, the same as fifth-placed Harbour View.
Daley, who started his career at Jamaica College, had a stint at Preston North End in England before returning to Jamaica in 2013 where he joined Tivoli Gardens before moving east to Harbour View in August 2015.
Meanwhile, struggling Waterhouse FC have resigned Weston Forrest and Theo Brown from Tivoli Gardens. The struggling club also successfully lured Christopher Louden from Molynes United and have brought in hard-tackling defender Carlos Wright from Boys’ Town as they seek to avoid relegation.
Waterhouse have also brought back veteran goalscorer Kevin Lamey, who is also listed as an assistant coach at the club, and have brought in goalkeeper Rashaun Patterson from Cavalier to fill in for Richard McCullum who retired.
Going the other way are striker Gary McIntosh, who has made the switch from Waterhouse to champion Arnett Gardens, while Adoah Nickles also left the struggling Drewsland side and has returned to Portmore United.
The Drewsland outfit is rooted at the bottom of the 12-team league on 17 points, two points below both Rivoli United and Tivoli Gardens on 19 points each.
Meanwhile, Cavalier were also busy in the transfer market bringing in Andrew Dawson from Boys’ Town, Aldain Grant and Cleon Pryce from Portmore United. All three have already scored for their new club. Also joining Cavalier is Sue-Lae McCalla, coming in from Portmore.
Veteran defender and former Tivoli Gardens captain Kasai Hinds is now at KSAFA Super League outfit Maverley/Hughenden along with Nackwayne Parchment from Meadforest United, who also represented Arnett and Tivoli Gardens.
