Jaden Smith face for LV womenswear?
Gender stereotypes or rules? Error 404: cannot be found.
Get ready for a new spin on ‘normal’. Jaden Smith, son of famed actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, was part of a recent Louis Vuitton campaign and has been photographed wearing a patterned, metallic-looking skirt.
And before you start thinking this was a flub or a one time thing think back to that time Jaden was pictured in a dress leaving what looked to be a school.
Is he just being ‘weird’ or is this some sort of ‘statement’?
Well, he’s been named the new face of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear and has been praised by his little sister Willow Smith.
His act is also being hailed by genderqueer or non-binary persons (those who do not identify with conventional gender distinctions) everywhere.
While men in womenswear has been an almost staple in televised and theatrical comedy, men and women in real life have been blurring lines for quite some time now.
We can’t help but wonder if such a move from one of Hollywood’s up-and-comings will help further push boundaries: is this the next ‘thing’?
