Western Ja set to ring in the New Year in style
MONTEGO BAY, St James RINGING in the New Year is undoubtedly the biggest party night of the year, and tonight promises to be no less, as western Jamaica partygoers and promoters get ready to welcome 2016.
Pier One, Montego Bay’s party central, is gearing up for their annual New Year’s Eve party dubbed “Twist,” which features two parties at the venue, allowing patrons to choose the ideal party of their choice.
Patrons can also choose between a $2,000 Appleton and Skyy Vodka drink-inclusive party, or the Ultra Inclusive $7,000 experience, which includes premium alcohol such as Hennessy and delectable food offerings from the food court.
“We are promising an experience like no other. It’s the end of the year and we are pulling out all the stops to ensure patrons get an awesome party experience. We will have fireworks and surprise party favours; expectations will be met and exceeded — that is what we are promising our patrons,” said Pier One director Anna-Kaye Russell.
Blue Beat Ultra Lounge, also in Montego Bay, will present the second installment of “Toast”, its Great Gatsby-themed party. The event includes a VIP lounge, buffet and drink-inclusive tag for $4,500 pre-sold and $5,000 at the gate.
The Dragonnaires will perform at a New Year’s Eve Ball at the SeaGardens Resort on Kent Avenue. The event will also feature guitarist David Hayle and Audley Scott. Cover cost ranges from US$65 to US$110 per person.
Over in Westmoreland, the second staging of the Whitehouse Fireworks Festival is scheduled for Whitehouse Beach Park, and dancehall heavyweights Tifa, Bugle and Ding Dong are down to provide the night’s entertainment. The party also features a VIP Deck, multiple food stations and booths carrying clothing and craft items. Ticket prices range from $1,000 pre-sold to $1,500 at the gate for general admission. VIP tickets will be available on the night for $2,500.
New Year’s Eve Jamboree will take over the shores of Cayenne Beach in Negril with a live performance from fast-rising dancehall artiste Vershon. Pre-sold tickets for the event are available for $1,000, while VIP tickets will be available on the night for $2,000, and also mix-drink inclusive tickets for $1500.
The luxurious Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Hanover promises another premier New Year’s Eve event, with a one- hour cocktail party between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm, dinner promptly after, and fireworks at midnight — all for US$385 per person.
Several other entertainment spots across the western region are also planning to ring in the New Year in style.
