JUTC driver shot dead
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – Detectives assigned to the St Andrew Central Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have commenced a probe into last night’s shooting death of a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus driver on Bedward Crescent, August Town.
He has been identified as 51-year-old Albert Barnes of 3 East, Greater Portmore, St Catherine.
Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that about 9:05 pm Barnes was driving a JUTC bus along Bedward Crescent when explosions were heard coming from the direction of the bus. The police were summoned and on their arrival, he was seen with a gunshot wound to his chest. Barnes was taken to hospital where he died while being treated.
