Sections of Eastern Caribbean jolted by earthquake
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 rocked the islands of Martinique, St Lucia and Dominica early Monday.
The University of the West Indies’ Seismic Research Centre (SRC), reports that the quake that occurred at a 2:55 am, had a depth of 147 km.
It was located nine kilometres northwest of Fort de France, Martinique; 69 kilometres north northwest of Castries, St Lucia, and 78 km south southeast of Roseau, Dominica.
There are no reports of damages or injuries.
