Dubwise back in JA
Dubwise returned to Jamaica with a whole different vibe, as we trampled in the dub garden at Space Caribbean on Wednesday night.
Many persons were packed in the very small venue to enjoy and support roots reggae music.
Yaadcore kept the energy and the vibes rolling, as the crowd rocked and sang along with the lyrics of their favorite Dread I’s.
A little later, Protoje took the stage and began rocking the crowd with his hit songs as well as tributes to Bob Marley and other reggae icons.
The highest point of the night though was the performance with Sevana, Jesse Royal, Kabaka Pyramid and Dre Island. That was a pleasant surprise to everyone. Screams screams and shouts of excitement erupted, as the group performed and the lyrical Don, Kabaka Pyramid, stunned us with his amazing performance.
The lowest point of the entire event however was the beginning. Things were flowing just a bit slow, but regardless of that, patrons were busy swarming the Mi Hungry food booth, just to get things to roll on until the stars of the night arrived.
It was all in all a lovely night, but, Dubwise’s first show back in Jamaica would score a 3/5. Undecided whether or not I would do this again.
