Constant Spring, Maverley/Hughenden win in Super League features
Low scoring characterised round two of the Charley’s JB Rum/KSAFA Super and Major League games played last weekend around the Corporate Area and its environs.
In last Sunday’s Major League Zone A games, Molynes United FC defeated Red Hills FC 2-1 at Red Hills, while Stony Hill FC surprised Duhaney Park FC 1-0 at Stony Hill playing field.
In Zone B, Whitfield Town FC and the JDF FC drew 0-0, while Olympic Gardens went down to the visitors Greenwich Town 1-3 at Cling Cling Oval.
In Super League Zone A games played last week Saturday, Constant Spring FC edged Pembroke Hall FC 1-0 on an 86th-minute strike from Evan Dezevado, and Maverley/Hughenden won by a similar margin away to Maxfield Park FC with a 45th-minute goal from Nigel Reid in the round’s feature games.
In other games, at Buttercup Park Real Mona and Barbican drew 0-0, while a short distance away at the UWI playing field, August Town FC and Shortwood FC battled to a 1-1 stalemate.
In Zone B at the Bell Chung Oval, Santos FC returned to winning form following their blip on last by clipping Brown’s Town FC 2-1; Seaview Gardens FC also turned back Bull Bay by a similar margin at Bull Pen, while Rockfort FC went down 0-2 to Rae Town FC at home.
Meanwhile, in Major League Zone B action, Central Kingston FC covered New Kingston FC 2-1 with goals from Ronaldo Henry and Ronaldo Davey. Dennis Brown replied for New Kingston.
