The Blu phone has steadily been rising to become one of Jamaica’s most sought after and used pocket savers when it comes to technology. They provide many people with a cheaper alternative to Apple iPhones and Samsung Galaxy’s.
While the phones may not be as good in quality to its direct competitors, buyers definitely get more than their money’s worth when they decide to purchase this piece of tech. From small phones to big phones, from smart phones to ones just for call and text, this brand provides it all, leaving little room for complaints.
Currently, Jamaica is under a Blu Phone take over. Blackberry repair shops have been transformed into Blu Phone repair shops and no one is complaining. Blu stores, selling Blu phones and other technology, have been popping up to the delight of many, because this makes finding Blu Phones easier and less expensive.
It’s no secret that many Jamaican’s appreciate getting value products for prices that won’t break their bank account, and Blu phones provide just that; it’s no wonder they have become this popular. For these reasons we declare the Blu phone as being Jamaica’s best piece of technology for the year 2015.
The Blackberry phone has become one of the most cringeworthy pieces of technology over the last few years and this year was no different. Try as they may the brand just cannot seem to pull itself out of the slump it fell into with the introduction of smart phones by brands such as Apple and Samsung.
In previous years, being seen with a blackberry phone in Jamaica automatically bumped your cool points all the way up, but now? Not so much. No one goes to their network provider and asks to see the latest Blackberry; we seriously doubt anyone even knows the latest Blackberry. Trading one Blackberry phone for another has been replaced by trading a Blackberry in for another phone all-together.
Now don’t get us wrong we can see that Blackberry is trying to stay relevant and on par with its competition. Many of Blackberry’s newer phone models have switched out keypads for touch screens, and unappealing device designs for sleek and modern ones, but it still isn’t working.
We suggest that blackberry do a full scale rebrand; Change their name and logo and come back with a bang. Until then, they won’t be seeing many of us on BBM (unless it’s from an Android… to keep in touch with our Grandma who refuses to change her habits).
