#BestOfWorstOf2015
Best: Lean On by Major Lazer
Despite not being able to mimic perfectly the effects in the song, this was definitely a year-long fave. It was an outrage when the song wasn’t nominated for a Grammy.
The song was blasted anywhere and everywhere this year – whether in the taxi going home or at the height of the party. Major Lazer have really pioneered the EDM music scene in Jamaica!Pretty Girls by Brittney Spears ft. Iggy Azalea Baby One More Time and Oops! I Did It Again, Iggy doesn’t share the crowd love and if we’re honest she played into the hands of her critics with the forgettable verse she had on the song. While we aren’t exactly fans of everybody beating up on Iggy Azalea: “See, it’s a thin line between the beauty and the beast, Slim waist, thick cake, the whole world want a piece”
Worst:
Haven’t heard it? You haven’t missed much. Just Britney Spears making an appearance (just to remind us she’s still out there, y’know) and Iggy Azalea trying to be relevant in 2015.
But while Britney may still be adored for her old hits
What does that even mean Iggy?! Aside from the obligatory Iggy Azalea sexual innuendo, is it that the thin line between beauty and the beast is a thin waist? Or did you randomly just throw in a cake reference to rhyme?
All in all, between Britney’s odd cadence, and Iggy’s unimpressive use of a decent enough beat, made for a pretty underwhelming song.
