‘DayBreak’ hopes to become staple
PROMOTER Rory McPherson is hoping that his DayBreak Breakfast Party series will be a “must go” for patrons on the entertainment scene. The inaugural all-inclusive event was held at Sabina Park in Kingston last Saturday.
Start time was 5:00 am.
“The breakfast party concept has been a staple in other Caribbean islands, like Trinidad during the carnival season. So we decided to add our own touch to the concept and introduce multi-genre music,” he told the J amaica Observer.
The well-attended party saw patrons dancing up a storm in the early morning through to afternoon to a heavy ‘diet’ of dancehall music, courtesy of Renaissance Sound and Richie Ras.
Patron Nicole Stephenson said she had a great time.
“The music was good… They also had a great variety of food and drinks. However, the morning heat was a bit much,” she said.
McPherson is optimistic on future stagings, given the feedback and crowd support.
“Based on our patrons response to the event, we will definitely have more stagings. The dates will be released soon. Patrons are asking for the next date already,” he said.
