Blood banks on ‘Mafia’ connections
UP-AND-COMING singjay Dhax Bitta Blood is hoping for an international career boost with his single Feeble Badness.
Produced by St Thomas-based Charlie Pro Records, the yet-to-be-released track forms part of the movie Jamaican Mafia. It is scheduled for a January release date.
The entertainer told the Jamaica Observer that the opportunity came about after a meeting with the movie’s star Mykal Fax.
“I am really grateful that he and his team gave me the strength. It’s another gangster record, which is fitting for the movie. I am really happy to get this type of exposure as the movie hit the big screens recently. It is one of the most sought-after film locally, so such exposure is really good for any upcoming artiste,” he said.
The movie opened in local theatres on November 27.
Jamaican Mafia tells the story of Zoolian Anderson (played by Mykal Fax), a car salesman who quits his job for life in the fast lane with his uncle, Soljie (Paul Campbell), head of an organisation known as ‘Jamaican Mafia’.
Dhax Bitta Blood (given name is Cody McKenzie) is a past student of Seaforth High School in St Thomas. It was there, he developed a passion for music.
In 2012, he released his debut single called Please Don’t Go. Other singles include Me Nuh Need That, Proppa Clean, and One Life.
