PNP extends compassion to family of Dr Raymoth Notice
GENERAL Secretary of the ruling Peoples National Party Paul Burke yesterday extended the party’s “heartfelt compassion” to the family, friends and colleagues of Dr Raymoth Notice, as well as to the residents of Bog Walk and its surroundings, where Dr Notice previously served as parish councillor.
Notice, a former mayor of Spanish Town, was Monday morning shot and seriously injured by gunmen at home in West Prospect, just outside of Bog Walk. He was admitted to the Spanish Town Hospital and later transferred to another hospital in Kingston.
“… No objective whatsoever justifies any attempt to take the life or property of a Jamaican citizen, or for that matter any peaceful and law abiding person,” Burke said, in reference to the robbery attempt in which Notice was injured.
Burke said it is his understanding that Dr Notice has been recovering after surgery, adding that he was grateful to members of the medical and security fraternity who have been on top of events so far and who he said “will endeavour to do their utmost to preserve Dr Notice’s life and establish the facts surrounding this vicious attack”.
